Save the planet

Electricity in Great Britain is mainly generated by burning coal, oil and natural gas, all fossil fuels. Nuclear power and renewable sources ( mainly wind generation)contribute a very small proportion of  total power generated compared to fossil fuels. Electricity  Generation produces tonnes of CO2 from the burning of these fossil fuels but also consumes  huge quantities of water which is heated to produce the steam to power the generators.
